The United States Department of Justice has announced that effective July 11, 2014, it will institute a new policy on recording interrogations. The policy, which will apply to the Federal Bureau of Investigation as well as other federal law enforcement agencies, will require most interviews with witnesses to be videotaped. A Rockville Centre man has entered a plea of not guilty to charges that he stole $870,000 earmarked for the payment of his clients’ filing and recording fees, taxes and other expenses related to various real estate transactions. The ring leader of an underage prostitution ring was sentenced to 40 years in prison this week. According to the Washington Post, federal prosecutors called the man the “’CEO’” of the largest underage prostitution ring” in the area’s history. Justin Strom was one of five defendants in the case, all of whom pleaded guilty to sex trafficking charges. The other four defendants were previously sentenced to prison terms totaling 53 years. Actor Stephen Baldwin was arrested last week in Harlem and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a misdemeanor under New York law. According to reports, Baldwin was pulled over by police after making an illegal U-turn.
